National Societies Awards

Hello everyone! I'm really proud to announce that last night Chaos won Best Academic and Careers Society, as well as coming runner-up for Best Society, at the National Societies Awards in Cardiff!

A lot of work has been put in by the committee this year to make Chaos as active and engaging as possible, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank them for all that they have done.

I would also like to extend a massive thank you, from a very hungover committee, to all of our members. This simply wouldn't have been possible without the brilliant enthusiasm you all have. You are Chaos!

Chaos Elections

As you may have heard, the AGM overran this year and so there are some roles on the Chaos committee that have not yet been filled. The elections are now open and we want to hear your voice! Click the link below to vote (do it for Feynman!):

Tom Williams,

Bristol Chaos
Annual General Meeting - 2018

Last week Chaos had it's annual general meeting (exciting) and, as part of this, amendments to the constitution were made and new committee members elected. This year a large number of candidates ran for the available positions and the fierce debates which resulted meant that the meeting overran. Due to this, there are still committee positions available! These are:

  • Physball Representative (x2)
  • Promotions Officer
  • Webmaster
  • Astronomy Officer
  • Equality & Welfare
  • Non-Portfolio Officer

If you are interested in running (and of course you are), we have prepared an FAQ of sorts:

How do I apply?
To apply we now ask you to fill out a google form here:

Where can I find more information?
The form linked above has most of the information on the election and application process.
Role definitions: they're in our constitution.

If you have any questions please send us a message (using the 'contact us' button at the top of the page).

On a second note, we would like to congratulate the new committee (listed below) on getting through the election process.

New Committee Members:

President: Matthew Lyons
Vice President: Ostin D'silva
Treasurer: Tom Williams
Secretary: Emmy Haile
Physbar Representative: Ben Haslam
Talks Representative: Rose Stanley
Social Secretary: Sanjeevani Panditharatne
Sponsorship Representative: Cris Oehling
Trips Representative: Saskia Jackson
Sports Representative: Darren Ng

Chaos Events - November Update

The Chaos blog is back with another quick(ish) update about all the fun things we have planned!

Firstly, a quick reminder that the 'Chaos goes ice skating' event is on this evening. If you still haven't got your ticket head over to the SU site now (I've even included a link below!) - you have until 5pm.

Secondly, we are very pleased to report that the trip to CERN sold out in half an hour! Hopefully everyone that wanted a ticket got one, but if you did miss out don't be sad, Chaos has more trips in the pipeline! Keep one eye on the events page to stay updated!

Finally, we hope you are all excited about Physball on Monday! The final preparations are being made for the biggest night of the Physics calendar (including the mandatory snapchat filter) - it promises to be a night to remember! All table submissions and meal choices should be sorted by now, but if you have any queries feel free to message us on Facebook or use the 'Contact Us' form at the top of the page.
